Akanban was born in 2020 from a simple frustration: project management tools were either too complex for small teams or too simple for growing organizations. We believed there had to be a better way.
Our founders, former software engineers and product managers, spent years working with various PM tools. They saw teams struggle with clunky interfaces, expensive pricing, and features that got in the way rather than helped. So they set out to build something different.
Today, Akanban serves over 50,000 teams worldwide, from small startups to Fortune 500 companies. We're proud to be profitable, customer-funded, and focused on building software that genuinely helps teams work better together.
